We love Tim’s work. Subversive, sexy and incredibly technical, Tim captures extraordinary moments with the finesse of a master painter.

A Londoner, he began shooting for The Face, Elle, Harper’s and Marie Claire, and was soon working on major campaigns for top agencies around the globe, as well as defining the aesthetic for brands such as Agent Provocateur.

Check out his work here. You won’t be disappointed. And if you get the chance to work with him, you’ll be ecstatic. We should know, we’ve worked with Tim many times over the years.

Decadent: Hi Tim, and welcome to Decadent. We think there’s a wonderful decadence to your work; it’s sexy, risque and subversive. What does ‘Decadent’ mean to you?

Tim: The word decadent always suggests the taboo things that go on with consenting people behind closed doors. It comes from a culture that questions. I always loved that undefined lifestyle that comes from your upbringing. Helmut Newton was raised by nannies, obedience and wealth, all of which were part of his childhood. Berlin aristocracy thrived around parties, exchanges of power and always behind closed doors. Sexual orientation went out of the window, the private lives of the wealthy and powerful were just that…. private, unless you were invited in. There’s no way he could have produced Sleepless Nights without insider knowledge. He was privy to things that anyone out of this group could never have experienced. There’s a scene in the movie Sexy Beast where Ian McShane and James Fox are sat together on a sofa in an orgiastic party. McShane turns to the aristocratic Fox and says, ‘So what is it with you, men or women?” James Fox replies “Definitely.”

Decadent: And what do you consider your most decadent piece of work?

Tim: Without a doubt a project I undertook with Jodie Harsh. We had worked together on several celebrity shoots as Jodie was Madonna’s DJ and mixed with everyone on the London party scene. Jodie is charm personified, quite the sweetest person, the opposite of what you would expect from a drag queen who dominated the party scene. He asked me to do an online exhibition featuring his Wednesday night club Room Service. We called the project Ultra Nocturne, the ultimate decadent party featuring Amanda Lepore, Joanna Londinium, Daniel Lismore, Sharon Needles, Monroe Bergdorf, drag queens, porn stars, and hot boys. It’s well worth zooming in. I loved the freedom everyone gave to the shoot which was actually shot in my studio over 4 nights. The energy was always strong, everyone had fun, the people were beautiful and loved having their picture taken. I was privy to something so special and I felt privileged. There was a high degree of sexuality, curiosity and narcissism. Was my head turned….definitely.
